As electric vehicle (EVs) sales continue to grow annually, a key element of successful adoption and consumer confidence is a robust network of public charging stations. The Biden-Harris administration has prioritized the buildout of 500,000 charging stations over the next 10 years, with plans to allocate federal funding to cover a portion of the charging infrastructure cost. The U.S. Department of Transportation recently released guidance for states on federal funding and finance options for developing charging infrastructure. Meanwhile, several state departments of transportation are already leading efforts on building out charging infrastructure and laying the groundwork for a national network. This webinar highlights the latest developments from the U.S. Department of Transportation and highlight Colorado DOT’s efforts, including the importance of building key partnerships and leveraging private investment. The webinar also covers some important lessons learned and what barriers remain for successful state and national networks.
